Rozelle’s story is one of layered service, shaped not only by her own military experience, but also by the interconnected roles she carries as a National Guard member, spouse, and student. Service, for her, has never existed in isolation. Instead, it has been lived through responsibility, adaptability, and a deep understanding that military life impacts the individual, the family, and the broader community.

Her time in the military provided her with opportunities that significantly influenced her identity and personal growth. Through those experiences, she developed resilience, leadership skills, and a strengthened sense of purpose that continues to guide her educational and personal journey at Pacific University. Military service expanded her perspective, teaching her how to navigate uncertainty while remaining grounded in commitment and accountability.

One of the most significant moments that shaped her outlook occurred in 2022, when she volunteered to take on a deployment-related responsibility. That decision was not just about fulfilling a role — it represented a conscious acceptance of sacrifice and the realities of military-connected life. This experience deepened her understanding of service as something that requires both personal strength and collective support.

Support systems have been central to Rozelle’s journey. She emphasizes that the encouragement she has received along the way has helped her remain resilient during transitions and challenges. Being surrounded by individuals who understand military experiences has contributed to her sense of belonging and connection, especially while balancing service identity with academic life.

Her message to others navigating similar paths is rooted in lived wisdom: growth is not always linear, and the environments we find ourselves in can become spaces of transformation. She carries forward the belief that resilience is built over time, through both challenges and support, and that individuals can continue to grow even in circumstances they did not originally choose.

Quote:
"When someone tells me 'Thank you for your service,' it's automatic for me to say, 'Thank you for your support.' Without the support of others, regardless of whether they are military personnel or not, that encouragement is what motivates me to continue serving."
